How does the quiz decide?
Each answer adds points to the options it suits, and a few answers rule options out. For example, under 45 minutes a day rules out the original two-workout format, and "free only" removes the paid app. You get the top three, each with a reason and a trade-off. No email is needed, and nothing is stored on a server.
The scoring in plain terms:
- Where you are: finishers lean toward Phase 1; people who stopped partway lean toward a restart; first-timers lean toward a shorter or softer start.
- What you want: "test myself" favours Phase 1 and 75 Hard; "goals" favours goal-based systems; "habits" favours 66 days; "balance" favours 75 Soft.
- Strict restarts: if they would make you quit, strict options lose points.
- Time and rest days: less time and a need for rest days favour lighter options.
- Budget: "free only" removes the paid app; "a few dollars" lowers it.
- People: wanting a group adds a little to options with a built-in community.
What options can the quiz recommend?
Eight: continue into LIVEHARD Phase 1; restart 75 Hard; 75 Soft; 75 Medium; a 66-day habit challenge; a custom 30-day sprint; a free paper-based daily system; and The Operator Standard, a paid goal-based app. Four of the eight cost nothing, and the paid option is clearly labelled with its price.

| 30-day custom sprint | Free | You decide | Your choice |
| Paper daily system | Free | Low | No |
| The Operator Standard | $50/month or $500/year (official site, checked Oct 30, 2026) | You set the goals | Streak resets, plus a strike |
Why is The Operator Standard one of the options?
It is a real option for some finishers, and this site is run by a member of its team, which we disclose on every page. It is an open-ended app that turns your own goals into five daily tasks, from the same publisher as the 75 Hard app. It suits work and life goals, and it is not cheap.
The quiz only ranks it highly if you say your next goals are about career, business or personal projects and that you would pay for a system. Choose "free only" and it drops out. For a detailed, sourced look at its pricing and features, see this Operator Standard review and price breakdown, which is also written by our team.
Frequently asked questions
Is this quiz scientifically validated?
No. It is a simple decision aid with transparent rules, listed above. It is not a psychological or medical assessment. It helps you compare options against your time, budget and preferences, and it links to sourced guides for each.
What if my results do not fit?
Retake the quiz with your second-choice answers, or read the alternatives ranked by difficulty. The best challenge is the one you will actually finish, so if a result looks too hard for your current life, the lighter option is the better choice.
Can I do 75 Hard inside another app?
You can track the 75 Hard rules in any tracker, including our free one. The Operator Standard's official FAQ says you can run 75 Hard inside its app, which matters only if you are already paying for it. The official 75 Hard app is the standard choice for the program and phases.
